International Coaching Federation (ICF) Level 1 - ACC Program
Completing my ICF ACC coaching program with Adhigam Avenue was an incredibly meaningful experience, made even more impactful by the exceptional faculty who guided us through the journey.
What distinguished the program faculty was that they did not simply teach coaching - they demonstrated what excellent coaching looks and feels like. They created an environment that was warm, psychologically safe, engaging, and appropriately challenging, giving us the freedom to practice, make mistakes, reflect, and grow.
Their depth of knowledge of the ICF Core Competencies was evident throughout the program, but what I valued most was their ability to translate those competencies into real human conversations. Through their facilitation, demonstrations, observations, and thoughtful feedback, concepts such as deep listening, maintaining presence, evoking awareness, powerful questioning, and allowing silence became behaviors we could actually practice and internalize.
One of my greatest personal learnings was understanding the difference between being a problem solver and being a coach who creates the space for another person to discover their own answers. Coming from leadership, consulting, and transformation roles, that shift was particularly powerful for me. The faculty helped me become more conscious of when to ask rather than tell, when to step back rather than solve, and how genuine curiosity can create meaningful insight.
The faculty brought rich perspectives and experiences, which made the learning even richer. Their feedback was specific, constructive, encouraging, and always focused on helping us grow.
Perhaps the greatest compliment I can give them is that I leave the program not simply with additional coaching tools, but thinking differently about how I engage with people. I listen differently. I ask different questions. I am more comfortable with silence and less inclined to immediately offer a solution.
That, to me, is the mark of exceptional teachers - the learning continues long after the class ends. I am deeply grateful for their expertise, generosity, encouragement, and genuine commitment to helping us not just learn coaching, but truly become coaches.
